Termites

Many of Bon Aqua’s homes, including the kind of century-old farmhouse construction found throughout the old spa-resort era of the community, are exactly the wood-frame construction subterranean termites target. They swarm in spring (typically March through May) and feed year-round below grade. An annual inspection and a monitored barrier are the difference between a routine treatment and a five-figure repair, especially for homes with original woodwork worth protecting.

The Piney River and the spring-fed creeks running through Bon Aqua’s ravines give ticks and mosquitoes plenty of habitat. Ticks ride in on livestock, pets, and pant cuffs after a walk through pasture or wooded property edges, while low, shaded spots along the water breed mosquitoes after rain. Spiders

Barns, hay sheds, and older farmhouses throughout Bon Aqua are classic brown recluse habitat in Middle Tennessee. We treat harborage areas in outbuildings and knock down the insect activity that draws spiders in the first place.
Seasonal Rodents
The fall rodent push
As temperatures drop from September into November, mice and rats move off the fields, fence lines, and wooded ridges and into garages, crawlspaces, and attics looking for a warm winter home. Sealing entry points before the first cold snap is far easier than evicting an established population in January.
Wasps

By August, wasp and yellowjacket nests reach full size in barn eaves, fence posts, and around the RV resorts and campgrounds that share Bon Aqua’s countryside with working farms. It’s seasonal, predictable, and very treatable when you stay ahead of it.

Spring
(Mar–May)
Termite swarms begin around historic farmhouse construction, cattle and horses turn out to pasture, and the season’s first mosquitoes hatch along the Piney River and spring-fed creeks. Best window for a termite inspection.
Summer
(Jun–Aug)
Ticks and mosquitoes peak in pasture and along the river; wasp and yellowjacket nests grow large in barns and around RV resorts; spiders are active in sheds and outbuildings.
Fall
(Sep–Nov)
Rodents move off fields and wooded ridges and into barns and homes ahead of winter. Prime time to seal up.
Winter
(Dec–Feb)
Rodents settle into barns, attics, and crawlspaces; overwintering pests hide in wall voids. The quiet season to plan exclusion and lock in termite protection.
