Operational Risks You Can’t Ignore

In a warehouse or plant, pest problems quickly become big problems. A pest found by a customer, retailer, or auditor can mean rejected loads, failed audits, or lost contracts. Without proper protection, you face:
  • Contaminated or damaged inventory
  • Failed customer and third-party audits
  • Rejected loads and supply chain disruptions
  • Rodent damage to wiring, packaging, and equipment
  • Higher operating costs

Built for Middle Tennessee’s logistics and manufacturing corridor

Middle Tennessee is one of the fastest-growing distribution and manufacturing regions in the country. Warehouses and plants line the I-24 corridor through La Vergne, Smyrna, and Murfreesboro, the I-40 corridor through Mt. Juliet and Lebanon, and the I-65 corridor north through Goodlettsville and south toward Spring Hill, with growing industrial parks in Gallatin and Clarksville. We provide warehouse pest control throughout the region, from small storage buildings to large distribution centers.

Why warehouses and plants are high-risk

  • Constant traffic. Trucks, pallets, and open dock doors bring pests in every day.
  • Shelter everywhere. Pallets, cardboard, racking, and stacked goods give pests places to hide and breed.
  • Food sources. Stored products, packaging adhesives, breakrooms, and spills feed pests.
  • Large, quiet areas. High racking and back corners let infestations grow unnoticed.
  • Surrounding land. Many facilities sit next to fields and undeveloped land, which bring rodents, especially when nearby construction disturbs them.

Food and ingredient facilities

For facilities that store or make food, pest control is a regulatory requirement, not just a preference. The FDA’s current good manufacturing practice rules require food plants to exclude pests, and most retailers and customers require third-party food safety audits. Our food facility programs include more frequent service, stored product pest monitoring, and complete documentation ready for inspections and audits. We support facilities audited under AIB, SQF, and BRCGS standards.

Audit-ready documentation

Whether it’s a customer audit, a third-party food safety audit, or an internal quality review, your pest control records are ready:

  • A current device map, with every station numbered and tracked visit to visit
  • Service reports for every visit
  • Trend reports showing activity over time, so problems are caught early
  • Corrective actions with clear responsibility, like “replace dock seal at door 14,” and their follow-up
  • Product labels and safety data sheets
  • Technician licenses and certifications
  • Your written pest management plan

Facilities we serve

We provide warehouse and manufacturing pest control for distribution and fulfillment centers, third-party logistics warehouses, cold storage, light and heavy manufacturing plants, automotive suppliers, food and beverage facilities, printing and packaging plants, and self-storage facilities across Middle Tennessee.

Tips for facility managers

  • Keep dock doors closed when you’re not loading or unloading.
  • Replace worn dock seals and door sweeps. A gap the width of a pencil lets a mouse in.
  • Keep pallets, cardboard, and stored goods off exterior walls so we can inspect along them.
  • Clean up spills and damaged product quickly.
  • Report pest sightings right away, with the date, time, and location.

How our commercial program works

  • Free facility assessment. We walk the building inside and out, including docks, storage, breakrooms, waste areas, and the exterior, and map how pests get in.
  • Written plan and price. You get a pest management plan and device map built for your facility, with a clear schedule and one invoice.
  • Scheduled service. We service around your production and shipping hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Reports and callbacks. You get written records after every visit, and callbacks between visits are included.

Our commercial division is led by James Hawkins, Regional Commercial General Manager, who has more than 20 years with U.S. Pest, holds Tennessee licenses in pest control, termite control, and public health pest control, and is LEED certified.

Warehouse Pest Control FAQs

Do you provide documentation for audits?

Yes. We provide device maps, service logs, trend reports, corrective actions, and product labels and safety data sheets.

Can you service during off-shifts?

Yes. We schedule around your production and shipping hours, including nights and weekends.

How do you keep rodents out of a large facility?

We combine exterior bait stations, interior traps at doors and along walls, and exclusion recommendations for gaps and dock seals. Stopping entry matters more than catching rodents after they’re inside.

How often is a warehouse serviced?

Most facilities are serviced monthly. Food facilities are often serviced more frequently. We recommend a schedule after the assessment.

Do you handle stored product pests?

Yes. We monitor for beetles and moths in food and ingredient storage and help locate and remove the source.

What is a trend report, and why does it matter?

A trend report shows pest activity by location over time. It helps spot problems early, like rising rodent captures at one dock door, and shows auditors your program is working.

Why do rodent problems get worse in the fall?

As temperatures drop, rodents move from surrounding fields into buildings. Middle Tennessee facilities next to open land or construction often see a spike in October and November.

Can you service multiple facilities?

Yes. Companies with several warehouses or plants can have them all on one program, with consistent service and reporting.

Do you require a long-term contract?

No. We don’t require a long-term contract. Most of our commercial clients have stayed with us for years.

How do we get started?

Call our Commercial Regional Office at 615-757-6710 or schedule a free facility assessment. We’ll walk the building inside and out, then give you a written plan, device map, and price.
