Looking for pest control jobs where you’re trained from day one, rewarded for great work and treated like family? U.S. Pest Protection has hired Tennesseans to protect Tennessee homes and businesses since 1985. You don’t need any experience. We’ll teach you the trade, help you become state-certified and show you a real path from your first route to wherever you want to go.
We’re in the people business
A customer hires us to get rid of their bugs. They stay with us for twenty years because of the person who shows up at their door. We’ve had customers move across town and take us with them, and new homeowners whose very first call was to the company their parents trusted. That kind of loyalty comes from people, not products.
That’s why we hire for character first and teach pest control second. We’re not in the bug business. We’re in the people business, and the people on our team are the reason customers trust us with their homes.
I love working at U.S. Pest because I feel a brotherhood, part of a team that stands for something and really cares about the community and the people we serve.

What we look for
We teach the bugs. What we can’t teach is character. The people who thrive here are:
- Honest, even when no one is watching. You own your mistakes, and you’d never recommend something a customer doesn’t need.
- Good listeners. You explain things in plain language and make sure the customer understood.
- Curious and coachable. You ask why, practice what you’re shown and get better with every piece of feedback.
- Dependable. You show up prepared, keep your commitments and finish the whole job, not just the easy parts.
- Ready to jump in. You help without being asked and stay steady when the day doesn’t go as planned.
You don’t have to be outgoing. Some of our best Pest Pros started out shy and became the person customers ask for by name. Many strong hires come from restaurants, delivery and other fast-paced service jobs, but examples from school, volunteering or family responsibilities count too.
Because customers trust us around their homes and families, every new hire has a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, passes a background check and drug test, has a clean driving record, and has no violent offenses, assault or drug charges.
What the work is really like
Pest Pros spend most of the day on the road between customers and working outside in Tennessee heat, cold and rain. Some days you’ll be in attics and crawl spaces, climbing ladders and carrying equipment. You’ll also run the business side of a route: explaining service plans, keeping accurate records and collecting payments. You’ll drive a company vehicle, so you won’t put miles on your own car.
It’s active, hands-on work with a lot of variety, and you get to know the families and businesses you serve over years, not just one visit.
Paid training, your tie and a real career path
Your training is paid, and we cover your Tennessee state certification. New Pest Pros spend about two months learning in the classroom, online and in the field alongside a Master Protector, an experienced mentor we choose for patience and quality. You’ll learn how pests live and travel, how to treat safely, and how to explain your work so customers understand it.
We’re also launching a two-year paid apprenticeship program that turns a job into a career. You learn on real routes, prove each skill before moving on, and follow a clear path:
Apprentice → Pest Protector → Master Protector → Leadership
Our goal is to promote apprenticeship graduates into management. If you want to grow, there’s room to grow here.
You’ll also earn your tie. Most of our industry wears polos. Our Pest Pros wear pressed shirts and logoed ties, because it shows we take the job seriously. We still have a lot of fun doing it.
Create your own economy
Some of our Pest Pros make $110,000 a year. Your pay grows with your experience, your time with U.S. Pest and the value of the work you produce. Sell to the neighbors, turn in leads and take great care of your route, and your paycheck reflects it.
| Good keeps us running | Great grows your paycheck |
|---|---|
| Shows up every day with a good attitude | Everything on the left, plus… |
| Takes great care of customers | Sells to the neighbors |
| Keeps a sharp look and an organized truck | Turns in leads |
| Communicates with the office | Jumps on new starts |
Great is a decision, and it’s open to everyone here.
