Fort Campbell Pest Control — Protecting Homes & Facilities on One of the Army’s Largest Installations for 40+ Years
Family-owned pest protection for military family housing, barracks, and post facilities — for over 40 years.
Fort Campbell spans roughly 105,000 acres straddling the Kentucky-Tennessee state line between Hopkinsville, KY, and Clarksville, TN, home to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, and the 5th Special Forces Group. About 86 percent of the post, more than 90,000 acres of ranges and maneuver land, stays undeveloped and wooded to give training its realistic edge, while the developed cantonment area holds everything from Campbell Crossing’s more than 4,000 privatized family housing units to barracks, dining facilities, hangars, and the Don F. Pratt Memorial Museum. That combination, high-turnover military family housing, dense group housing in the barracks, and a huge amount of bordering wooded training land, is what makes Fort Campbell’s pest pressure different from a typical residential base town. For more than 40 years, our family-owned team has protected homes and facilities in and around Fort Campbell, serving both the installation and the surrounding communities of Clarksville, Oak Grove, and Hopkinsville.
Being one of the Army’s largest installations, bordered by tens of thousands of acres of wooded training land, shapes which pests show up and where. Here’s what we see most on and around post:
Rodents
Rodents & pests from bordering training land
With roughly 90,000 acres of ranges and maneuver land left undeveloped around the cantonment area, homes and facilities on the edge of that training land see more rodent pressure from the tree line than a typical residential subdivision. Mice move from the wood line into garages, crawlspaces, and outbuildings looking for shelter, and we seal entry points with that edge-of-post reality in mind.
Ticks & Mosquitoes
Ticks & mosquitoes from the training ranges
Fort Campbell’s tens of thousands of acres of wooded ranges and maneuver areas give ticks and mosquitoes far more habitat than a typical town, and both travel easily from that land into nearby housing areas and yards. A property-wide treatment covering the tree line works far better than treating the yard alone.
Housing Turnover
Campbell Crossing housing turnover pest pressure
With more than 4,000 privatized family housing units cycling through PCS moves throughout the year, Campbell Crossing sees more move-in and move-out turnover than most residential communities. That turnover makes consistent, unit-by-unit pest prevention especially important, since a gap between one family’s move-out and the next family’s move-in is exactly when pests take hold.
Barracks & Group Housing
Barracks & group housing pest pressure
Soldiers E5 and below living in the barracks share close quarters much like dense apartment or dormitory housing, which makes roaches and bed bugs a real and fast-spreading risk if even one room goes untreated. We coordinate with housing and facilities staff to treat connected units and common areas together, not just a single room.
Termites
Termites in Kentucky-Tennessee border soil
The moisture-holding soil common across this stretch of the Kentucky-Tennessee border gives subterranean termites easy movement underground. They swarm in spring (typically March through May) and feed year-round below grade. An annual inspection and a monitored barrier matter for family housing and older post structures alike.
Facility Pest Control
Government & military facility pest control
Dining facilities, hangars, administrative buildings, and other post facilities all carry the pest risks of any large government or industrial operation, food service pests around DFACs, stored-product pests in warehouses and supply buildings, and general pest pressure in high-traffic administrative spaces. We provide commercial pest programs built for government and military facilities, scheduled around operational needs rather than disrupting the mission.
Your Fort Campbell Pest Calendar
What to expect through the year on and around post — and when to act:
Spring
(Mar–May)
Termite swarms begin in border-region soil, and the season’s first ticks and mosquitoes become active across the training ranges. Best window for a termite inspection.
Summer
(Jun–Aug)
Ticks and mosquitoes peak across the ranges and maneuver land; PCS season brings heavy housing turnover at Campbell Crossing, making unit-by-unit prevention critical; wasp and yellowjacket nests grow large on housing decks and eaves.
Fall
(Sep–Nov)
Rodents move off the training land and into family housing, barracks, and facilities ahead of winter. Prime time to seal up.
Winter
(Dec–Feb)
Rodents settle into attics, crawlspaces, and building voids; overwintering pests hide indoors. The quiet season to plan exclusion and lock in termite protection.

We started using U.S. Pest to help control summer mosquitoes which made it miserable to be outside on our patio. The regular spraying has helped significantly. Philip has been great in communicating his visits to us and answering questions.
